In 1999, the forest rangers found this 7-month-old baby elephant abandoned by the herd of elephants in the Sabarimala forest. Later he grew up as Konni Surendran in the Konni Elephant Cot.
His beautiful black color, long trunk, wide and beautiful tusks, and his stature and grace beyond his years made him a favorite among elephant lovers at an early age.

In 2018, Surendran was taken to Tamil Nadu for Kumki training. Many elephant lovers were against taking him to Tamil Nadu. But Surendran was taken with the assurance that he would be brought back to Konni after completing the training, but after completing the training, Surendran was transferred to Kumki Training Center in Wayanad.

Surendran helps the forest guards from the front in the tasks of driving wild elephants that come down in the populated areas and catching wild elephants that are dangerous to the people and putting them in cages.

Surendran is tall beyond his age and may become the tallest elephant in Kerala in the near future. Surendran is different from the Gajarajas by Lakshanam and Azhak.
Surendran is now the most important elephant of Kerala. He has many fans in Kerala now.

Many elephant lovers want to see Surendran in the festivals of Kerala but now Surendran is the main among kumki elephants. Participated in several missions and played a major role in the victory. He cannot be spared in the task of driving out the wild elephants that are now descending into the densely populated areas.
